What are the signs and symptoms of thyroid cancer?

 

Typically one or more of the following signs/symptoms will occur that will lead a patient to visit the doctor.  However, often a patient is asymptomatic (does not have symptoms) and the thyroid nodule is found on a routine examination or MRI.

  

Signs/Symptoms:

  

Lump or mass in neck

Neck swelling

Neck pain or tenderness

Thyroid nodule

Difficulty swallowing

Enlarged thyroid gland

Voice changes or hoarseness
